Whether you love it or hate it, fashion is all around us. It’s plastered all over the subway on your way to work, it’s advertised in glossy magazines, and it’s basically staring you right at the face no matter where you go.

It's no surprise that many people are dying to obtain a career in the billion-dollar industry. But when choosing a path in fashion, the first question most people ask is, "How do I get into the industry?" Networking, networking, networking. Setting your mind for success is the initiative toward accomplishing want you want in life, but it always helps to know people along the way.

If you’re truly serious about making it in this world, it wouldn’t hurt to know the insights on how to succeed and find your way through. And that’s just what the people at Into the Industry want you to know. Into the Industry is a three-day workshop in New York City founded by five professionals who have wiggled their way through different fields in fashion. Together they’ve created a program in which participants can enroll and learn about fashion design, beauty, digital fashion marketing, and fashion photography.

"We felt like we could offer an interesting perspective seeing that we were all in different creative areas of the industry. There is so much we wish we had known before we started our careers and we wanted to share that with our students," says team member Meg Lindley.

But even though they’ve made it, there’s still a few things they wish they would’ve known before getting involved. Ahead, they share some of the best advice they’ve ever gotten and what they love and hate about working in the industry.
