Art lovers rejoice! Tonight is the official kick off of the ninth annual Bushwick Open Studios, a free and open-to-the-public arts and culture festival in Brooklyn, New York. Ten thousand visitors are expected to check out the hundreds of artists showing in over 500 galleries, art spaces, and pop-up venues all throughout Bushwick.
The launch party at the photo and video studio Be Electric will feature free beer and a photo booth. Make sure to stop by NEWD, Bushwick’s own art fair, housed in an old school warehouse named The 1896. Have a complimentary mimosa at “Maps and Mimosas” in Norte Maar and marvel at the art of a group of over 30 vibrant artists in Bushwick’s art scene. Don’t miss out on the Bushwick Collective Block Party on Saturday, where rapper Fat Joe will be headlining.
Latin American artists will also be exhibiting with the group collective “Costeñita,” curated by Dominican art director June Cotard, along with music, performances, and drinks. Our very own Daniela Vesco, Photo and Video Editor of Vivala, will be exhibiting her photographs of Dominican model and actress Sharon Gallardo too. Get your art game on!
