Dewy, lit-from-within skin took center stage at BCBG's Spring/Summer 2016 show during New York Fashion Week. Makeup master Val Garland perfected the models' "effortlessly cool" look that was inspired by a the "quintessential California girl." The barely-there makeup was complimented with tousled beach waves and kohl-rimmed eyes for subtle a rock n roll feel we're ready to recreate this weekend.
What caught our attention backstage at the show was the airbrush makeup device Garland used to perfect models' complexions. She used the new handheld TEMPTU Air, which is the first cordless airbrush makeup system to hit the market. The professional tool is actually available for purchase now and is made for everyday girls like us to make the application of foundation, blush, bronzer, even eyeshadow seamless. We were a bit apprehensive to try it at first, but after using it just once, we were airbrush converts simply because it was mess-free and cut our makeup application in half. The portable (makeup bag friendly!) device is easy to use, too: Just snap the pod of your choice in, hit the power button, and use the trigger to lightly mist your face. As long as you keep the misting about four inches from your face you really can't mess it up (at least we didn't!).
To get the BCBG model look, we accentuated our cheekbones with TEMPTU Airpod Bronzer in Warm Glow and highlighted with Airpod Highlighter in Champagne. Could this be the secret to perfecting the no-makeup makeup look? We think so.
