The Blonds never fail at serving up some jaw-dropping amazing nail art — and the works of art spotted on the spring 2016 runway did not disappoint. Nails are anything but an afterthought, noted designer Phillipe Blond, “The nails are an integral part of our overall story. Seeing it all come to life on the runway is incredible.”

The glinty gold nail theme serves as the perfect compliment to the designers’ ornate fashion designs, which were inspired by Egyptology and the traditions of the ancients of taking their earthly possessions with them into the afterlife. The Egyptian inspiration seamlessly lent itself to over-the-top glitzy nails, and the CND team took the ball and ran with it, coming up with a total of 24 bold, hand-sculpted looks that took over 600 hours to produce.

The nail looks combined the vision of the designers with CND’s own trends for the season — according to CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold — which featured bronzes, metallics, and romantic references that tied in perfectly with Cleopatra and the The Blonds’ overall theme.

While we may not be wearing extravagant wings, an actual Sarcophagus (the one in the show contained a mummified pharaoh with designer Phillipe Blond’s actual hair!), or have long fringe dangling from our nails any time soon, there were still 14 wearable designs we can try ourselves. And we can certainly embrace the royal color palette of golden hues that were accompanied with hints of blue, turquoise, red, and green. We’ll totally try that any day of the week!
