Victoria's Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio sat down with Net-a-Porter's The Edit earlier this week to talk about how she stays healthy with such a busy schedule. In addition to talking about how her Brazilian heritage helped her embrace her curves, she got real about dieting in the modeling industry. Namely, that it sucks.

“Whenever I start to diet, everything goes downhill," she said. "So if I want a little bite of dark chocolate on a plane or a cocktail with friends on the weekend, I’ll have it. In fact, I’ll drink a glass of red wine with dinner most nights, and two or three times a week I’ll have a cup of tea and a cupcake with [my daughter], who’s as obsessed with red velvet as I am. My son [Noah, 3] will just pick the icing off the top.”

Girl, yes. Real talk: Dieting is the literal worst, and no one should ever do it. Of course, maintaining healthy eating habits is part of a healthy lifestyle, but life is also about enjoying yourself and sometimes that means eating a cupcake or slice of pizza or having a glass of wine.

Ambrosio also opened up about the pressure of being a VS Angel, saying that after giving birth to her daughter, Anja, in 2008, she only had three months to lose the baby weight before the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

"I was on this 1,200-calorie-a-day meal-delivery service that I hated," she said. "I couldn’t do that again.”

Neither could we.
