The road to body positivity hasn't been a cake walk for "Modern Family" star Ariel Winter.
Starring on a hit TV show put Winter under a microscope — which is a lot of pressure for a teenager.
Though she's now a total badass of body positivity, Winter overcame a lot to get this comfortable in her skin.
An emotionally abusive mother was a huge hurdle, as was the media's relentless public body-shaming. But she didn't let it keep break her down, and she attributes this to one of her "Modern Family" co-stars.
Ariel says that Sofia Vergara was the one woman who helped her the MOST on the road to loving her body.
"I really had the greatest opportunity to have some wonderful role models, especially Sofia Vergara," Winter told ET.
"Working with a curvy, beautiful woman that everybody looked up to and loved the way she looked… that was my inspiration to move forward and accept myself, because that's what matters," Ariel said.
This just shows what happens when we love ourselves just as we are — we give other people permission to do the same.
Positive representation can transform lives— which is why we need more body diversity on TV!
Ariel keeps shining her body positive light brightly on Instagram, posting awesome selfies whenever she's feeling awesome.
And as for her haters? If they don't like seeing her body on social media, Winter says that they can "just unfollow me."
Haters to the left!
