Bruno Mars is on cloud nine right now after receiving six Grammy nominations this week. His album "24K Magic" was full of hits, including the inescapable "That’s What I Like," which was undoubtedly stuck in your head at some point in 2017.

But the song's success was no accident. When you realize how much time Mars spent on it, you'll think twice before switching the radio station, no matter how many times you've already listened to the track.

In a phone interview with the "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show" after the Grammy nominations news broke, Mars seemed to still be in disbelief. "I don't know how to feel about it. I'm pinching myself right now," he insisted.

While Mars took the time to express his happiness and give thanks for the support his music has received, what really stood out was his confession about how long it took for him to be confident in "That's What I Like."

"You know I worked so hard in the studio, and you know, no one sees that," Mars said. "I was listening to 'That’s What I Like' for a year before I put it out."

"That questioning myself and wondering if I’m going crazy — Is this song right? Maybe I gotta turn the snare up? Maybe I gotta change this verse, change this lyric? So it’s just nice to feel that maybe I’m not crazy, Elvis. Maybe I’m not that crazy”

Every perfectionist knows this struggle.

Well, we can certainly assure Mars we don't think he's crazy at all. The hard work definitely paid off BIG TIME.

Congratulations, Bruno!
