Dascha Polanco doesn't have time for anyone who is not trying to celebrate her body as much as she does.

Speaking to Vogue, the actress revealed designers have refused to dress her because of her curvaceous figure.

Polansco stars on a hit TV show ("Orange is the New Black") and has a huge social media presence (2 million Instagram followers), yet lesser known actresses are much more likely to get offers from designers because they fit a sample size. And even though it's a system that's been around for a while, it's still frustrating for the fashion lover.

“I understand that it’s business, but still, it’s like, really?, she told the mag. "My industry friends, who are clear and honest with me say, 'Girl, they don’t have your size, and you’re not at that level yet, so you have to either move that way or just build those relationships so that later in the future maybe it happens.'"

Polanco said when designers won't dress her because of her size, she keeps it moving, but never forgets.

“I had a situation with a high-end brand the other day where I had personally invested so much money purchasing their items, and I love what they do, so I had my publicist reach out to their PR team. Their response was, 'Oh, you’re not the sizes we have, not right now, maybe in the future,'” Polanco explained. “Now even if they want me to [wear their designs] down the road, I will not give them the pleasure."

Instead Polanco focuses on working with designers who will honor her figure.

"I try to work with up-and-coming designers who will make things for me and who will collaborate with me. People who love my curves and embrace them as much as I do.”

One thing's clear, if designers don't love the Dominicanas bodacious figure, her fans most definitely do.

“Online, a lot of the feedback is that people would love for me to show my body more! They love when I wear something tight, they love when I wear something see-through; they love when I wear stuff that just embraces every bit of my curves.”

Through her fashion choices, Polanco recognizes that she's able to have a positive impact on how others perceive their bodies.

“Even though I’m a size 8 or 10, I still can look as great as someone who’s a size 0 ... Every day, women have to boost themselves up. You have to look at yourself in the mirror and say, 'I am fabulous, I am beautiful, I am me, and I am my own best competition.'”

Her experiences in Hollywood and love for fashion may lead her to follow the likes of Melissa McCarthy and Rebel Wilson to start her own clothing line.

“I want to design something that’s between plus and between sample size — a brand that eventually would market to everyone, to all women, period,” Polanco said. “I think that Hollywood-wise, people that have influence have to start making the change and speaking up."

"[If] you’re not going to make my shit. Well, I’m going to make my own!" the star said.
