Diego Luna made it to space in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." Now, he's leaving the universe altogether with his latest project.
Luna has been cast as the voice of an animated character in the virtual reality (VR) series "Rainbow Crow."
"Rainbow Crow" is based off of a Native American legend from the Lenape tribe.
The story takes place in a time where only animals roamed the world in perfect spring-like weather. However, winter comes unexpectedly and the animals recognize that they are in danger. Their only hope and hero is the Rainbow Crow.
Luna is joining "Fresh Off the Boat" actress Constance Wu on the cast.
Luna will bring the Moth character to life while Wu will voice Skunk. John Legend is producing and top-lining the show.
"We are thrilled that Diego Luna and Constance Wu feel that "Rainbow Crow" is an important story to tell and have come on board," Baobab Studios CEO and founder Maureen Fan told Deadline.
There is no official launch date for the series. However, the series first episode will be screened at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 21.
"'Rainbow Crow' is a tale about sacrifice, diversity, and self-acceptance, so we are proud to have an incredibly distinctive cast of talented storytellers who share our values," Fan said. "We can't wait for audiences to experience what these wonderful actors have created," Fan said.
