Drake and Rihanna are no longer hiding their romance in the shadows — and it's about damn time. Since they were first romantically linked in 2009, their flirtatious glances, onstage chemistry, and straight up grind sessions have hinted that they were more than friends. And though they tried the dating thing a few years ago, at the time it didn't work out.

Things seem to have started sizzling again, and in recent months we've all been pawns in their game as they troll us with their "are they or aren't they" relationship. But now their romance finally seems to be the real deal (or at least they're finally letting us know it is).

After Rihanna swerved Drake at the MTV Video Music Awards when he tried to plant one on her lips, she made up for it Wednesday night (August 31). Once she finished performing "Bitch Better Have My Money" at Drake's Miami stop for his Summer Sixteen tour, the two smooched for all to see.

Their hug afterwards shows that Drake has been waiting for this moment for way too long. And honestly, so have the rest of us. Because if you've been following along, you know that there have been plenty of times these two basically proved they're perfect for one another, starting with...

When Drake suggested he and Rihanna should have a baby together.

Rihanna stopped by Drake's OVO Fest in Toronto in early August, and the rapper was tremendously grateful. So grateful, he basically admitted Rih should be the mother of his child. "You showed up two nights in a row for my city. You might have to go half on a baby." Although going "half on a baby" is the least romantic way to suggest having a child.

Every single time they collaborated on a song and "acted" like lovers who couldn't keep their hands to themselves. Like here.

"Hey boy I really wanna be with you cuz you just my type." Mmmhmmm.

Here.

Who's taking care of whom? Huh?

And a 1000 percent here.

This two-part sexy ass video is pretty much a seven-minute Drihanna love fest where we're reminded what a beautiful freaking couple they make.

Whenever they show PDA in public and light the hell up.

No need to get a room, when they've got a stage.

When Rihanna wasn't even trying to be subtle and called him "baby" in front of an audience of thousands.

Pretty sure Drake wanted the show to end at that moment so he could walk off the stage with his boo.

When Rihanna's mere touch was enough to make Drake need a cold shower.

Can he have a moment?!

When RiRi gushed about Drizzy's work.

In March 2016, she told Vogue, “Everything he does is so amazing.” I'm going to imagine she blushed and smirked while gushing over him (like in the GIF seen above.)

When he admitted Rihanna made him feel like a young teen crushing hard.

Drake and Rihanna had a thing in 2009, which was short-lived. Still, in a profile of Drake by the New York Times in 2010, the rapper made it seem like he felt used by RiRi.

I was a pawn,” Drake told the publication. “You know what she was doing to me? She was doing exactly what I’ve done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear,” he said. “I was like, wow, this feels terrible.”

First off, not feeling too bad that he got a taste of his own medicine. But after that quote was made public, Drake explained to MTV that he meant no offense, it was actually intended as a compliment. He revealed that his successful career made him supremely confident, but being around Rihanna actually intimidated him and he likened it to young love.

"She just gave me that feeling when I was like 17 years old trying to take Nikki Ramos – this girl from Toronto – out on a date and she never wanted to go with me. And that's how she made me feel. She made me feel small, nervous. She made feel like 'oh, should I wear this? Should I text right now?'... It put me back to feeling like Aubrey Graham, not Drake. So I tip my hat to her as a woman. I appreciate those emotions."

When he admitted that Rih is the "most beautiful, talented woman I've ever seen" who's probably going to leave him "heartbroken."

He's just leaving it all on the table.

When they completely lost their shit onstage because they were too busy flirting.

Fast forward to the 8-minute mark to see this adorable moment go down.

When Drake described Rihanna as his "ultimate fantasy."

Speaking with Rolling Stone in early 2014, he pondered how amazing a relationship would be between the two of them. "She's the ultimate fantasy," he said. "I mean, I think about it. Like, 'Man, that would be good.' We have fun together, she's cool and shit. But we're just friends." **Drake tears

Every time they tried to mask their affection in the media.

Both using the word "great" to describe one another or their relationship. Coincidence? I think not.

When Drake bought a billboard – yes, a billboard – to congratulate Rihanna for her VMA Video Vanguard Award.

Because a simple card wouldn't do. And RiRi knew it was over the top because she captioned this photo, "when he extra." Yeah, just a lil' bit.

When we eyed Rihanna in a Drake IG photo.

Y'all can try to play coy all you want, but we see right through these games.

But the truth is finally out. Took y'all long enough.
