Gina Rodriguez has already broken barriers with her character on "Jane the Virgin," but fans want to see Rodriguez bring more representation to the screen, and they want it ASAP.
The 33-year-old actress has never felt the need to define her sexuality, which is exactly why fans want her to play TV's next groundbreaking lesbian character.
"So many fans ask me if Jane is bisexual. Jane is the furthest from bisexual — maybe Gina’s a little closer than Jane is! — but I love that they want that," Rodriguez previously told BUST magazine.
On the most recent episode of cop comedy "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," one of the main characters, Rosa Diaz, played by Stephanie Beatriz, came out as bisexual.
Back when Beatriz came out, Rodriguez said she was very down for playing a bisexual character onscreen opposite her.
“I want to play her love interest so bad,” Rodriguez said. “I really hope they make that happen.”
Not surprisingly, this isn't the first time Rodriguez has wanted to challenge sexual orientation onscreen.
This year, the actress is starring in "Annihilation," where she shaved her head to play a badass lesbian paramedic.
It's safe to say the LGBTQ community would be shooketh if Gina were to take on such an important role.
