"Jane the Virgin" totally ROCKED our worlds in the episode that aired Monday, February 6, where Jane's husband Michael's storyline took a dark turn...
The show had been foreshadowing Michael's death for quite some time, especially after the season two finale when Michael was shot at the very end (of course), right after he married Jane — talk about keeping us at the edge of our seats.
Even though the show had been prepping viewers for the inevitable, it was still heartbreaking.
This is what makes great TV, people.
In a Tumblr post, showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman addressed why Michael's death was something that was bound to happen: "It was also a decision made very early on, when I thought about our story as a whole. And even in season one, I knew it would be a hard thing to actually do, which is why there was a line (which many of you noticed) about how Michael would never stop loving Jane. And the narrator confirmed, 'For as long as Michael lived, until he drew his very last breath, he never did.'"
Sometimes you gotta play tricks on yourself and that's OK.
Legit tears were shed for this episode!
You know it's serious when you start writing in ALL CAPS.
Translation: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN MICHAEL IS DEAD IN JANE THE VIRGIN?! MY SKIN HAS GOOSEBUMPS, I CANNOT HANDLE ANY MORE DEATHS OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS. STOP IT."
