In a classic case of being damned if you do and damned if you don't, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are being dragged to hell and back for their donation to victims of Hurricane Harvey.

The couple took to social media to announce they would be donating $25,000 each to help the families affected by the devastating natural disaster.

"Hi, everybody! We’ve been watching everything that’s been going on down in Houston and our hearts are just breaking for all of the families that are displaced, all of the victims. Seeing these pictures of children and all of the footage, it’s just devastating and we just want to do our part to help," Lopez said.

"Jennifer and I are going to do $25,000 and it’s our opportunity to come together as one to help out all of the great families in distress down in Houston. We’re praying for you and God bless all of you," Rodriguez added.

The duo used their platforms to remind everyone that we are all in this together and encouraged everyone watching to contribute, but many people who saw the clip missed the point entirely and proceeded to bash the duo.

The donation police in Lopez's Instagram comments felt that the $50,000 the couple pledged wasn't enough.

And many even brought up the amounts that other celebrities were donating in order to shame them.

Rodriguez reposted the video and those comments were in shambles, too.

This all begs the question — what amount is the right amount?!

Would there ever be a scenario where people wouldn't complain?

But it wasn't all terrible. Many fans of the couple came to their defense and commended them for their efforts.

At the end of the day every little bit counts. Plus, spreading awareness on their platforms that millions of people follow will only get more people to make a difference. How can anyone hate on that?
