Jennifer Lopez has acted in countless movies, released tons of #1 hits, and broken fashion barriers, and yet, according to her, starring in the "Selena" movie remains her most prized work to date.
The singer was recently asked which movie was her favorite onscreen performance, and of course, the answer was the hit 1997 film which honored the late Queen of Tejano.
Lopez was only two years older than Quintanilla at the time of her death when she filmed the movie.
So it's easy to see why Lopez thinks often about where Quintanilla would be in the industry if she had survived.
"It was sad to not see where she would be now at my age. She would be around my age now, so it's sad. Tragic," Lopez said.
J.Lo continues to credit Quintanilla for being an influence on her own career, which is why she planned the tribute for her two years ago.
"It was awesome to be able to do that, that many years later—20 years later," she said about the 2015 tribute performance. "And to see her sister and her brother and see Chris [Perez] and the rest of her band that came out. They didn't ask me to do that, it was my idea. I was like, 'We should get her family out here! This is 20 years!'"
