Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are notorious for keeping their life private.
Although the couple has been together for nearly five years, they rarely open up about their personal lives.
So when Gosling admitted his role in "La La Land" wouldn’t have been possible without Mendes' help, our hearts melted.
After winning Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, for his role in the musical rom-com at this year's Golden Globes, Gosling took the time to thank his beloved "sweetheart" and their precious daughters.
I would like to try to thank one person properly and say while I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I've ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer. If she hadn't have taken all that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today. So sweetheart, thank you. To my daughters Amada and Esmeralda, I love you.
And if that weren't enough to make us shed a tear or two, Gosling also paid a heartbreaking tribute to Mendes' late brother.
And if I may, I would like to dedicate this to the memory of her brother, Juan Carlos Mendez.
Eva Mendes' brother Carlos Mendez sadly passed away at the age of 53, after a long battle with throat cancer in April 2016.
That same month, the actors welcomed their second daughter, Amada Lee Gosling.
And although Mendes did not attend the show with Gosling, the "La La Land" star couldn't stop gushing about his familia.
Gosling told Entertainment Tonight that the mother of two did not attend the awards show because she was busy taking care of their daughters, Esmeralda, 2, and Amada, 8 months.
