Netflix is at it again with some exciting news: Its rebooting the '70s classic show One Day at a Time. As if that wasn't a thrilling announcement by itself, its giving it a Latina makeover and the great Rita Moreno is going to be a part of it all. If you need a refresher, One Day at a Time was about a divorced single mom raising her two children and dealing with what life threw her way. While Moreno is going to play the grandmother, we can't help but be excited for the fresh Cuban-American twist and the concentration on what it's really like to be a single mother with a feminist focal point. After all, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 80 percent of single parent families have women at the helm. According to Deadline, 13 episodes have been ordered, and even though we don't know when we'll be able to binge-watch it, we just can't wait! To keep us busy in the interim, here are 11 shows where single moms took center stage — and with every right!

'Gilmore Girls'

Lorelai is the type of mom who says it like it is. With her own bed-and-breakfast, humor, and general ability to turn unfortunate situations around, she makes us want to be half the mom she was. Also, not to spoil it for you, but her daughter, Emily, ends up going off to Yale. If there was a question about a badass mother-daughter duo, there's no question that they're it!

'Jane the Virgin'

If you haven't watched Jane the Virgin, what are you waiting for?

It looks like Lauren Graham, Lorelai from Gilmore Girls, did it again with her role as a single mother for Parenthood.

Ana Ortiz as Hilda Suarez in 'Ugly Betty'

Ugly Betty is a funny, feel-good show, and Hilda Ortiz carries that same spirit with her kid. No matter how tough the circumstances may be, a mother's love for her children is unbreakable.

'The New Normal'

A show about a single mother's life after she becomes a surrogate for a gay couple? Yes, please!

Reba was a true comedy about a single Texan mother that still had to deal with her ex-husband and his new beau, so you know there's some juicy episodes amidst the humor.

'The New Adventures of Old Christine'

Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays Christine Campbell in The New Adventures of Old Christine and truly shows us what it takes to keep the relationship between your child and their father healthy, even though you two may no longer be together.

'Mysteries of Laura'

Talk about supermom: Laura Diamond is a homicide detective, as well as a mother to twin boys with a divorce happening amidst it all. Debra Messing definitely shows a character of strength and will for all the single moms out there!

The title of the show is enough to tell you exactly what it's about: Mom. Christy is a single mother who has finally become sober and cares for her two kids that keep her more than busy. Things definitely get a little crazy as her mom chimes in on her life — something we're all too familiar with.

Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes in 'Sex and the City'

Miranda might have been on-again, off-again with her boyfriend — later turned husband, Steve — but that didn't stop her from being a powerhouse worker with her kid before she settled down.

Chandra Wilson as Dr. Miranda Bailey in 'Grey’s Anatomy'

It's heartbreaking to see Dr. Bailey's marriage fall apart in Grey's Anatomy, but she is proof of perseverance through tough circumstances. Moms truly are superheroes!
