America Ferrera rang in the new year by sharing the wonderful news that she's expecting her first child with husband Ryan Piers Williams. During a stop at "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" this week, the host celebrated the announcement with a special baby gift that will make you shed a tear.
In the segment they talked about her pregnancy and her "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" reunion with co-stars Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn, and Blake Lively.
Lively is wearing the magic pants in the picture, and Colbert couldn't resist asking if they'll fit Ferrera's baby bump as it grows. "Do you know what the word 'magic' means, Stephen?" Ferrera responded. "Yes! They're magic. They would fit me all times."
They also discussed her political involvement, which includes speaking at the Women's March last year and launching the Time's Up campaign along with hundreds of women in Hollywood.
Its mission is to help other women, people of color, disabled people, and more speak out against unfair treatment in the workplace.
According to Ferrera, the campaign has already raised over $14 million for a legal defense fund that will provide subsidies to both men and women fighting sexual harassment cases across all industries. To learn more, visit Timesupnow.com.
Ferrera spoke passionately about the program and how it builds on other movements like #MeToo. It reminded us why we love her so much... and it was also the perfect segue into Colbert's baby gift.
"We have a little onesie for your baby, male or female," Colbert said.
"And it says... "I'm with Ferr."
So perfect! We're with her too, Stephen!
We can't think of a better gift for our president.
