Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda made headlines at the 2016 Tony Awards for the moving sonnet he recited as he accepted the musical's win for Best Original Score, but his wife Vanessa Nadal caught our attention for a different reason — we couldn't stop staring at her gorgeous silk dress, which featured a unique splatter print.

Cenia Paredes, who designed the dress, told Vivala via email that she came to know Nadal through Miranda's father, Luis. She added that Miranda wanted to work with an up-and-coming Latina designer for his wife and mother's gowns, which is how she first met Nadal.

"[Vanessa] told me she loves clean lines, fit-and-flare dresses, and especially loves prints," Paredes says. "I developed six sketches based on her feedback. She came to my showroom and immediately fell in love with the design she wore."

One aspect of the dress you probably didn't see? The V-neck in the back. Most photos of the dress have focused on the front, but Paredes says the gorgeous silk gazar gown featured a deep V in the back and she provided us with a look at it. Check it out below.

One thing's for sure — whatever direction you look at it from, the dress is unforgettable.
