Zöe Saldaña and her husband Marco Perego have the freaking most adorable family.

And Perego has always shown his unwavering support for his wife.

After the two got married, he took Saldaña's last name. And when Saldaña returned to work shortly after having their twin boys, he frequently brought their boys to visit mamí on set.

And now Saldaña is standing by her man for one insanely important occasion: Perego becoming a U.S. citizen.

In a sweet photo she posted to her Instagram on Wednesday (July 20), Saldaña shared the significance of the day for her Italian-born husband. "Marco has been dreaming about this moment for a long time. It was a process  – as it should be, but we are finally here."

The Puerto Rican and Dominican actress also took this event to lend her support for all immigrants still struggling to become citizens.

"We are aware it isn't easy for many immigrants to obtain their citizenship, we say to them NEVER GIVE UP. Stay the course. America would not be what it is if not for the immigrants that come for better opportunities. We send love and good vibes to you all today."

Hopefully with Perego's new citizenship he exercises his right to vote this November so more immigrants down the line can have the same opportunities he's now been afforded.
