The color experts at Pantone have spoken. For the first time, not one, but two It colors have been selected for the new year — Rose Quartz and Serenity

That’s right, it looks like 2016 will be all about soft hues dominating fashion, home decor, and design. Chosen by Pantone for a “harmonious pairing of inviting shades that embody a mind-set of tranquility and inner peace,” the soft rose quartz pink and delicate baby blue are already giving us trend followers plenty of ideas.

“In many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends throughout all other areas of design,” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, said in a press release.

So if you’re ready to play with pastels right now (who says they're just for spring and summer?), move that LBD to the back of the closet and make room for these fun finds.
