As a curvy woman with hips for days and a narrow waist, finding jeans that fit without leaving an unflattering gap at the back are hard to come by. So when I heard that Dominican designer Cenia Paredes came up with a genius innovation promising to end this pet peeve, I couldn't just walk, I had to run to try it!

I even got another co-worker in on it for a second opinion, so you'll get all of the tea about these jeans.

The pants I hoped would make my dreams come true are the patent-pending ConVi jeans. They feature two zippered darts at the back waist. When it is unzipped, the waist fits like a standard pair. When it is fully zipped, the waist becomes two inches narrower.

If these jeans delivered on its promise, I wouldn't need to worry about tailoring, or using a belt that will only bunch up the fabric, or needing to wear a top long enough to keep myself from accidentally showing off my underwear. Major keys!

I am typically a size 12 in jeans, so I ordered a Large based on the size chart. That size gave me a perfect jegging-style fit that felt snug and comfortable at the same time.

I loved the high waist, plus my butt looks AMAZING — a must for any jeans purchase.

Look at that lift!

I tried them on unzipped at first, but because of my hips to waist ratio, that pesky waist gap reared its ugly head. I've had worse, so it wasn't devastating, but it was still annoying.

The gap allowed me to put the zipper innovation to the test and see if it truly tightened things up.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a difference! The gap was less obvious, but my booty could have definitely used an extra half an inch of tightening for an absolutely seamless fit.

Next up, my colleague Leilah Peralta tried a pair in a darker wash. She is typically a size 4 or 6, so the Small in the ConVi Jeans turned out to be just right. However, she would consider going up a size for a looser fit.

“Jeans that gap in the back have always been an issue for me," Peralta shared. "When I try on jeans in my size, they sometimes fit perfectly throughout the leg, but have too much room around the waist."

"Still, the zipper feature in the back solves the gap problem perfectly."

Peralta had a smaller gap than I did so lucky for her, the measurement of zippers gave her an ideal fit.

"All jeans could use this upgrade!” she added.

Overall, we were satisfied with the #ConviEffect. However, the $99 price tag is still a tough pill to swallow, especially since the stretchy material makes these pants feel more like jeggings than a sturdy pair of jeans.

But it's that flexibility that gives you a perfectly sculpted fit to enhance your curves. That makes it a winner in my book.
