Who says a Cuban sandwich has to be eaten for lunch or dinner? In this episode of Vivala Eats, we layer the classic components of the Latin staple on a bagel and put an egg on it.

Cuban Breakfast Bagel

1 shot of espresso
1 T raw cane sugar
2 thick-cut bacon strips
1/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 bagel
2 slices of Black Forest ham
Deli mustard
2 slices of pickles
1 egg, sunny-side up


Directions:

Preheat your oven to 400 ℉. Combine the espresso and sugar in a small bowl. Add the bacon and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Place the bacon strips in a baking pan and roast until crispy (about 5 minutes). Add cheddar to one half of the bagel. Toast both halves in oven until cheese is melted. Spread mustard on the plain half of the bagel. Add the ham, bacon, pickles, and egg. Bagel + Cheese + Pickles + Bacon + Ham + Egg + Mustard + Bagel = You know you want it.
