Woke Latina bae American Ferrera is being recognized for her support of the LGBTQ community, and we can see why!

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) — a civil rights organization — is honoring the 32-year-old actress with the HRC Ally for Equality Award on March 18. Fellow Latina Jennifer Lopez accepted the same award in 2013.

Her friend Lena Dunham will present her with the award.

"America Ferrera has shown an unwavering commitment to advancing equality for all people and sets a stirring example for others to follow. As we continue the fight for full equality during this very uncertain time for our country, we are constantly inspired by America and our friend Lena Dunham — both fierce and outspoken champions of equality," said HRC president Chad Griffin

Ferrera has been a vocal ally and supporter of the LGBTQ people at a time of crucial importance.

At the Women's March on Washington, she delivered a powerful speech that proclaimed, "We will not ask our LGBTQ families to go backwards."

She has a formidable voice in the political arena, and she's not afraid to use it.

Ferrera is particularly committed to transgender rights, which are under siege now that Donald Trump is president.
