Last week, we heard the news about a bilingual children's book based on Selena Quintanilla's life called "The Life of /La Vida De Selena: A Lil' Libros Bilingual Biography" ($9, Amazon), and it was enough to bring tears to the Queen of Tejano's followers' eyes. After all, the adorable picture book will undoubtedly raise a new generation of Quintanilla fans.
The fact that it was put together by a pair of Latina besties — Ariana Stein and Patty Rodriguez — already made us feel incredibly proud, but their connection to the #MACSelena collection will make your cup runneth over.
Rodriguez gathered almost 40,000 signatures — and the attention of MAC Cosmetics, who decided to make the #MACSelena makeup collection a reality.
The collection broke the internet after fans responded to the new line in a way MAC Cosmetics did NOT anticipate.
MAC was completely wiped out of the collection, and even made the unprecedented move of restocking the collection weeks later.
Now Rodriguez's latest move is keeping Quintanilla's legacy alive, and it's proving to be another blockbuster hit. Since the announcement of the book on November 7, it's already the #1 best-seller in Children's Multicultural Biographies on Amazon...
... and it beat out "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" for the top spot in the overall Spanish charts!
Yes, you read that correctly. A Quintanilla book got best-seller list mainstay Harry Potter SHOOK.
The book isn't even out yet!
