While two years of dating might seem, to some, like plenty of time to build a relationship before getting married, it wasn’t enough time for Amber Rose and ex-husband Wiz Khalifa.
According to U.S. Weekly, Rose, who recently appeared on Bethenny Frankel’s SiriusXM’s B Real With Bethenny, believes the couple’s relationship would have lasted if only they held out on tying the knot. “I feel like we just rushed into marriage because we were so deeply in love,” the 32-year-old told Frankel.
But Amber thinks being married made those rough patches more difficult to deal with. “Because we were married, it kind of, like, brought it to the next level.” She added, “I feel like if we just stayed in just a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship longer, we could have worked it out and then got married later."
The former couple got hitched in 2013 and were only married 14 months before Rose filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. These days, the pair shares custody of their 3-year-old son Sebastian, and according to Rose, is closer than ever.
"It's so crazy that we are literally the best of friends," she told Frankel. “We just went out to a strip club the other night together — without the baby. Just me and Wiz," she said. "We had a great time.”
As to whether or not Rose thinks she and Khalifa will ever get back together, she’s leaving it up to fate. “ If God wants us together, we will be together."
