I didn’t realize how clueless I was about makeup until I discovered YouTube's beauty community almost 10 years ago. Even though I'd played with makeup since I was a little girl, it had never occurred to me that I could deep clean my brushes with shampoo or that not using primer was the reason my eyeshadow kept disappearing from my lids. Thanks to spending countless hours watching videos, I now know what I didn't know. I will be forever grateful to these beauty gurus for helping me step up my makeup game.

Makeup artists (and sisters) Samantha Chapman and Nicola Haste really blew my mind with the creativity and detailed explanation of their different techniques. Their Halloween looks (the Corpse Bride and Beetlejuice's Miss Argentina are personal favorites) are always out of this world.

Marissa Castillo's videos gave me the push I needed to experiment with glitter and different eyeshadow colors.

Tanya Burr

Tanya Burr, who recently became Pixiwoo's sister-in-law, will show you how to get that glowy, airbrushed look that you see celebs rock on the red carpet.

Nikkie is the literal queen of doll-like perfection. My under-eye concealer and nose contour game is on point thanks to her.

Kandee Johnson

Kandee Johnson taught me all about the transformative power of makeup with her videos about how to fake plastic surgery with concealers and foundations long before Kim Kardashian West made contouring a thing.

I would have been clueless about how to clean my brushes if it had not been for gurus like MakeupByTiffanyD. She is also an amazing resource for product recommendations. Also, she's your girl if you're trying to figure out how to nail winged eyeliner.
