"I’ve always been fascinated with taxidermy," Casti told Daily Mail Australia. "I find beauty in death."

This nail art is literally to die for.

She uses bugs that are "donated" or acquired through a licensed taxidermist.

The bugs are sanitized, "fossilized," and entombed beneath a coat of acrylic. Beyond bugs, Casti also works with snakes, scorpions, and even goanna, an Australian lizard.

Her latest fascination? Wasps...

despite the fact that she insists none of the bugs or animals are killed for the purposes of her art.


"I want to create things that challenge people's perception of beauty," says Casti.
