The Obama Administration is launching a new round of immigration raids targeting Central American women and children, according to Reuters.

According to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), these mothers and children have been told to leave the United States leading field offices nationwide to launch a 30-day "surge" of arrests. Unfortunately, families are set to be torn apart. This immigration raid also includes minors under the age of 18 who have entered the country without a guardian.

"The exact dates of the latest series of raids were not known and the details of the operation could change," reports Reuters. But they did get word that it would be happening in May and June.

Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard of California voiced her concern in a Facebook post stating, "I have been one of the leaders of the House Democratic opposition to these raids. If this new report is accurate, it is a very bad sign that the Obama Administration has not listened to us after months of urging them to adopt a refugee approach with other Western Hemisphere nations."

Because this particular immigration raid is targeting women and children who have likely fled their native country because of violence, many, as Roybal-Allard points out, "will face violence if they are returned. It is not just hypocritical — it is plain cruel."
