Yet another heartbreaking shooting has claimed the lives of two victims and left at least five injured. The shooting took place at Studio 74, a community dance studio in Fort Worth, Texas, early yesterday. The two people killed in what ABC news reports was a suspected gang-related incident have been identified.
The men were Treavon Lewis, 22, and Jordan Larkin, 18. According to the Star-Telegram, Larkin was a recent grad of North Crowley High School in Fort Worth.
Rex Russell, husband of Larkin's former teacher, Jeanene Young Russell, told the Star-Telegram that Larkin was a "great kid" who spent a lot of time with the couple.
“He was like a son to us,” said Russell in an interview. “He spent last Christmas with us.… We enjoyed having him around.”
On its Facebook page, Studio 74 announced that it will be hosting a commemorative dance session today:
Inquisitr points out that this shooting marks the 33rd U.S. mass shooting for the month of June alone.
