If there's one thing I know about my generation, it's that we are all broke AF.
If you're like me and have runway taste on an H&M budget, you have to get creative with your wardrobe. And if you're plus-size (also like me) it's even harder because a lot of the "trends" don't trickle down in your size.
One thing we ALL have in our closets is a little black dress. Mine is from Torrid and here are three ways I'm styling it for the spring-y weather we've been having in NYC.
Look #1: This is easy, practical, and gives a fun nod to the '90s.
I didn't have to think too hard about this look. I grabbed a denim button-up and tied it around my waist and plopped a beanie over my hair. Who has time to do their hair every day? Not me.
Beanie, Forever21; denim top, Old Navy; black dress, Torrid; boots, ASOS; choker, Ashley Stewart
To play off the denim top, I added an Ashley Stewart choker that actually fit!
These statement booties from ASOS have been bae all winter long.
Look #2: This is my take on modern mod — all I'm missing are bold lower lashes and I'd pretty much be Twiggy's twin.
Turtleneck, Old Navy; boots, Steve Madden; backpack, Forever21; earrings H&M
The white backpack plays with the color palette and the metallic thigh-highs keep it from being too matchy-matchy.
LOVE these earrings from H&M.
Look #3: I'm not much of a party person, but I'll take any reason to get dressed up.
I channeled my inner Instagram baddie by grabbing a silk duster and pairing it with a simple black choker and strappy heels, which makes the bold look a little more delicate and lingerie-inspired.
Red duster, Rebdolls; choker and clutch, Fashion to Figure; heels, Forever21
