That Aren't Tulum

Need some vacation inspo? According to the Washington Post, Tulum is all the rage right now. Tulum is pretty and definitely has some great beaches, but it's also basically the Williamsburg of Mexico: trendy, overpriced, and honestly, kind of overrated. (Yes, I said it. Come at me, bro.) Why not try one of the destinations below instead?

Sintra, Portugal

You could visit the Pena National Palace, which is just 40 minutes outside Lisbon.

Iguazu Falls, Argentina

This destination actually connects the borders of Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, so depending on where you go, you might be standing in one or all three of those different countries. The views are, in a word, breathtaking. (I've been there! I'm not exaggerating — the views are almost indescribably beautiful.)

Medellín, Colombia

Medellín's nightlife has been building quite the reputation for itself, and that view isn't half bad either.

Heidelberg, Germany

Heidelberg literally looks like something out of a fairy tale. Enough said.

Awahua Beach, Hawaii

It was named one of the best and most underrated beaches in the U.S. by the Huffington Post last year.
